Centerboard Racing
Serious fun, camaraderie, and sailing... that's what Centerboard Racing is all about. Whether it is having dinner with the other crews after a Wednesday Evening Race or spending a Saturday at the Centerboard Regatta, come join us and sailboats from all around Casco Bay this summer.
Wednesday Night RacingCenterboard's Wednesday Night Racing Series is intended to be a weekly low key event with friendly competition. Racing starts at 1800 off the Eastern Promenade and boats will sail a single race about 90 minutes long. Afterwards everyone returns to the Club to enjoy a dinner put on by one of the boats in the fleet. CascoBayMarks.06.13.2020.gpx.txt Centerboard RegattaThe Centerboard Regatta kicks off the GMORA racing season with a friendly, casual racing atmosphere on the second Saturday in June each year. The regatta format on odd years will be one long race starting off Portland's Eastern Promenade and sending boats out through the many islands of Southern Casco Bay. On even years the Regatta is run in conjunction with the Atlantic Cup's Inshore racing. On those years multiple short windward leeward races will be run. Centerboard Yacht Club will host a post-race BBQ featuring pulled pork at the club on the Fore River with majestic views of the sunset and the Portland skyline. Sit back and swap sea stories with your fellow competitors as you enjoy the BBQ and a Free Beer or Dark & Stormy while listening to music provided by a live band. This is intended to be a family friendly event open to all CYC Members and Racers. Quahog QuestThe Quahog Quest will be a two day race from Portland Harbor to Quahog Bay where boats can raft together for the night and Race Committee will cook dinner for the fleet. Sunday the fleet will race back to Portland Harbor where awards will be given at Centerboard YC. Non-racers are welcome to us at Quahog Bay for the raft and dinner. Bluewater Regatta
Come join us for our Annual Bluewater Regatta! The format will be one long race starting near House Island/Peaks Island and sailing around the islands between the Shipping Channel and the Hussy in either direction.
After the day's sailing return to the Club for a Lobster Dinner with Free Beer and live Music! This is intended to be a family friendly event open to all CYC Members and Racers.
